September 2013 - MET MAST INSTALLED AT BARR CREGG

RES is erecting a temporary meteorological mast at the location of the proposed Barr Cregg Wind Farm.  The mast, which has its own planning consent (A/2011/0466/F), will enable wind speed data to be accessed remotely and analysed by RES' technical specialists.  As Garth McGimpsey, the Project Manager for the site, explains, "Our technical team will use the data to plot the site specific wind speed and direction for a minimum of 12 months.  The data gathered will be used to assess and select the most suitable turbine for the Barr Cregg Wind Farm should planning consent be granted, enabling us to maximise the energy output from Ireland's vast indigenous renewable energy source".
